“We were given Pantano’s number by a fellow contractor that had used them before. We always did our own demolition in the past, but we had a large job coming up and it was more than we cared to do ourselves. I contacted them and got an instant response; Jim and Jason came out and discussed what they would do for us, the procedure, and then followed it up with a written cost estimate the next day. Their crews are careful and neat and the company is well-equipped. They do all of our demo work now, which allows us to tend to other parts of the job…”

“We are builders in the Main Line area since 1974. Several years ago we had the pleasure to make the acquaintance of Pantano & Sons, Inc., who removed an existing garage for us to make way for a new one. We were very impressed by the service we received and the manner in which the job was conducted. Since that time we have engaged their services for all manner of jobs that require intelligent (read selective) demolition, including removing construction debris from the premises as well as leaving the job site vacuum clean when they are finished. Pantano & Sons, Inc. will continue to do as much work for this company as we can provide. Always a pleasure with whom to work, this company is on time and on budget.”

“I wanted to thank you for the excellent job your company has done for us over the years. It has been more obvious than ever with the demo at The Wayne Hotel. Knowing that one call is all it takes to get things ready for our carpenters to walk-on and do what we do best has helped our productivity immeasurably. Thank you again, we look forward to continuing our relationship with your company in the future.”

“Jason, just a brief note to let you know how happy our customers are with your services. Your men are quiet, clean, and very fast. It is also very nice to know that you [salvage] as many items as possible…Many thanks for the great work.”

“As in life, the construction business can be very exciting, unpredictable, challenging, frustrating and rewarding…sometimes all in one day.
In March 2004, I was building a garage in Ardmore. I noticed a crew of men working diligently on a demolition project next door. I was impressed on how carefully, methodically, and efficiently they were working. At days end, the men had completed work that would have taken me two days and then they meticulously cleaned the property. Despite losing money on the garage I constructed, I gained something much more valuable that day, an irreplaceable trade partner [Pantano & Sons, Inc.].
A few years ago, Jim changed his company name to Pantano & Sons. How fitting for a man who clearly earned a right to proudly display his family name. Within a short period of time, Jim assigned my account to this young buck. As time passed, I saw less and less of Jim and more of [his son, Jason].
I recently hired Pantano & Sons to demolish a pool and kitchen in Bryn Mawr. To my pleasant surprise, Jim showed up at 7:30 AM and he was smiling. Within minutes, Jim started directing his men to install what looked like an airplane runway. In fact, it was temporary protection so that his equipment wouldn’t damage the lawn. Jim subsequently showed up the second, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth days. Needless to say, two weeks later, Jim was still stopping by the jobsite to check on [his foreman, Ron] and progress. The weather had created some delays and the project was becoming less profitable by the minute. Despite all the unforeseen hurdles, Jim never complained once, never asked for a dime more than he quoted, and never cut corners to save time or money.
Jim told me about how his [grandfather] started the company, how Jim lost interest in the family business and went to operate heavy equipment…and how Jim subsequently re-started the business from scratch. While telling the story, Jim didn’t tell me about how great he was or how much he had accomplished. All Jim could talk about was Jason and how proud he was to have his son and family involved in his business.
I am honored to be here, to spend time with Jim, his family and colleagues on this special day. I just want to thank Jim for his unrelenting integrity, honesty, and reliability. Jim is a true professional.
Thanks,
Dan Seidler
The above letter was written for Jim’s 60th birthday, for which we hosted a client/vendor appreciation party at our warehouse in Norristown. Many thanks to our friends, family, and business associates who contributed thoughtful written sentiments for the “letter box” presented to Jim that day.
